Warner Bros. World

The Top 10 Rides & Attractions at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪

If you’re like us and LOVE all things Warner Bros, then you’ll definitely LOVE Warner Bros. World in Abu Dhabi! The theme park opened in 2018 and has become one of the most popular family attractions in the UAE. There’s thrilling rides, fun shows and immersive experiences. It really has something for everyone.

We’re massive Warner Bros. fans. In fact, we’ve been to all their global theme parks including Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia and Parque Warner Madrid, but we were desperate to see how this park in Abu Dhabi compared. We’ll be honest straight off – The theming here is on a whole different level. You’ll find it hard to believe you’re inside at times.

You’ll find characters from all your favourite movies and cartoons at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. There’s 6 themed lands – Warner Bros. Plaza, Bedrock, Cartoon Junction, Dynamite Gulch, Gotham City and Metropolis.

Warner Bros. World is the world’s second largest indoor theme park and it’s a pretty amazing place! Crucially for the Middle East, it’s 100% indoors and fully air-conditioned, making it the perfect escape from the heat.

It’s on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It’s close to other theme parks including SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and Ferrari World, as well as the site for the newly announced Disneyland Abu Dhabi.

Since the parks are so close together, most people visit more than one. We recommend buying the Yas Island Multi-Park Ticket. It works out much cheaper than buying single day entry tickets and lets you hop between Warner Bros, Ferrari World and SeaWorld!

Yas Island is also home to the Yas Marina Circuit where the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held, Yas Mall, the Etihad Arena and loads more. It’s got so much to do for a great stay in the UAE. There is even a dedicated hotel, The WB Abu Dhabi, located literally steps from the park entrance!

Warner Bros. World is easy to get to from most places in Abu Dhabi. There’s a shuttle from Downtown as well as the regular shuttle service on Yas Island itself. It’s just a short 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. Taxis and Ubers are reasonably priced in the UAE. It’s just over an hour from Dubai and a regular shuttle runs from there to Yas Island and the Abu Dhabi theme parks. You can even get a day tour to Warner Bros. World from Dubai.

So with so many great attractions, where do you even begin? Fear not, fellow tourists! We’re here to guide you through the top 10 must-ride attractions at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.

10. Ani-Mayhem

Get ready for cartoon chaos with this interactive dark ride! Yes, it’s a shooting game and we love a good shooting game. And this one is pretty good! You join the Looney Tunes gang on a delivery mission for ACME. Using barcode scanners, you rack up points by zapping targets as you travel through the wacky world of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Tweety and all your favourites. It actually uses a really cool trackless ride system, which means your delivery van spins and slides all over the place without following an invisible track on the floor.

Here is a fun little Easter egg for you. The queue area is set up like a mid-century advertising agency and if you look closely at the Acme Corporation’s awards cabinet, it’s completely empty except for a load of cobwebs! There was times we felt like we were in Space Jam on this to be honest. This ride is great fun for all ages, with a healthy dose of competition thrown in for good measure. Denis wants it noted that he won.

9. Scarecrow Scare Raid

Yes, this is an air raid ride, similar to what you might have seen in other theme parks like Emerald Park but this is SO MUCH MORE! It’s a custom Zamperla Air Race model that actually lifts over 7 metres into the air before flipping you into 360-degree barrel rolls. Scarecrow has unleashed his fear toxin and it’s up to you to brave the dizzying swings and inversions as you soar through the air.

The theming is pretty spectacular and having the entire ride lift into the air really adds to the adrenaline rush. The Gotham City area is amazing and has loads of amazing hidden details like the fake pawn shop window selling the debris left behind from superhero battles! Plus they’ve used the fact it’s inside to create a dark vibe perfect for Gotham. Scarecrow Scare Raid fits right in. We got off grinning from ear to ear, although we’re not sure if that was because of the ride or the Scarecrow’s chemicals 🙂

8. Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey

Blast off on an intergalactic journey with Green Lantern in this 4D flying theatre experience. You get strapped into stadium-style seating that pushes forward into a massive dome screen so you feel like your feet are dangling in space. You then soar through the universe to battle evil forces as you fight alongside Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. As far as flying theatres go, this one is pretty good. The graphics are decent, the story makes sense and having a flying theatre based around Green Lantern, a character who actually flies, has ended up being a pretty enjoyable experience. Plus, it’s a lot more forceful than a lot of other similar rides. We enjoyed it a lot more than we thought we were going to.

Green Lantern is one of our favourite flying theatres. Obviously, it doesn’t look EXACTLY like this but it’s close!

7. The Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure

Take a leisurely boat ride through the prehistoric town of Bedrock with Fred, Wilma and the rest of the Flintstones gang. You’ll see the iconic Stone Age family, including Barney, Betty, Bamm-Bamm and even Dino the dinosaur, as you float along the scenic river and see the preparations for the Stonetennial Day celebrations. This is the main ride in the Bedrock area which has unbelievable theming. The boat ride takes that a step further. It’s a classic Intamin flume ride, so you’re definitely going to get a splash on the final drop. As fans of the classic cartoon, it was a great bit of nostalgia that will have you humming the infamous theme song for hours. Word of warning, it can be a little chilly if you get wet because of the air-con! Never thought we’d complain about being cold in the UAE!

6. Scooby-Doo: The Museum of Mysteries

Climb aboard the Mystery Machine and join Scooby and the gang on a spooky adventure through a haunted museum. This is another trackless dark ride which brings you along on a ride with Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby through a series of scenes inspired by the classic cartoon. Because there’s no track on the floor, your Mystery Machine can reverse, spin and take unpredictable paths through the darkness. According to the park’s backstory, the museum is actually the abandoned mansion of a wealthy railway baron who hoarded creepy collectibles from around the world. It’s really good fun and there’s some great effects that add to the spooky atmosphere. You’ll love it! Denis is a massive fan!

5. Tom and Jerry: Swiss Cheese Spin

Prepare for a whirlwind adventure with everyone’s favourite cat and mouse duo. This spinning coaster takes you on a chaotic chase through a giant block of Swiss cheese. The coaster cars freely spin as you navigate the hairpin turns, hitting speeds of around 50km/h. With unexpected twists, turns and drops, you’ll be giggling and screaming the whole way. We’ve been on rides like this outdoors that just haven’t been up to much but being in the dark really adds a fun element to it. In a park light on coasters, you’ll enjoy giving this one a whirl. See what we did there?

4. The Riddler Revolution

Embark on a mind-bending journey through the twisted world of The Riddler. It’s a Disk’O coaster, which basically means you sit on a giant circular disk facing outwards that spins while rocking back and forth on a halfpipe track. These tend to be middling at best but this has theming that elevates it into a different league! Set in an abandoned warehouse where Edward Nygma has lured you onto his fiendish contraption. The smoke, the lights, the atmosphere. It’s one of the most stunning rides you’ll see at any theme park.

This is some of the best theming you’ll see on any ride anywhere!

3. Fast and Furry-ous

Experience the adrenaline-pumping world of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner in this high-speed roller coaster. Zoom through the desert landscape of Dynamite Gulch, dodging obstacles as you race alongside the iconic cartoon characters. It’s an inverted family coaster, meaning the track is above your head and your legs dangle freely as you fly over the desert canyons. It packs a punch and is made all the more fun with the inclusion of two of our favourite cartoon characters. There are so many classic ACME rockets and props scattered around the queue line to spot before you get on board. You’ll feel like you’re in the middle of a classic Looney Tunes cartoon. We loved it.

2. Justice League: Warworld Attacks

Join forces with the Justice League heroes in this immersive dark ride. You take part in an epic battle against intergalactic invaders as you fight alongside Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash and Cyborg. It uses a really clever motion-base vehicle that pitches, tilts and rolls perfectly in time with the massive 3D projection screens.

If you’re a DC Comics fan (like Kolyn), make sure to read the office directory boards in the queue line. They’re packed with comic references! There’s some great cutting-edge special effects and 3D imagery that will make you feel like you’re in the heart of the action. It’s similar to rides like Transformers in Universal and definitely holds its own in comparison.

Meet the Justice League! This is an actual shot from the ride, only it’s not in 3D.

1. Batman: Knight Flight

Take to the skies of Gotham City on this dark ride. As the newest recruit in Batman’s crime-fighting team, you board a high-tech Wayne Tech flying vehicle and soar through the city’s skyline. The ride system is completely brilliant. You’re actually strapped into a giant robotic arm that moves along a roller coaster track, so you get dropped, tilted and swung around as you face villains like Joker, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze and Harley Quinn to assist the Caped Crusader in restoring justice.

This is a robotic arm dark ride similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in the Universal parks and we really loved how the ride moved between the screens and real physical scenes. It is easily the best ride in the park.
